the vines of colter's creek are nestled along the potlactch river near its confluence with the clearwater.the elevation of the vineyard is between 800 and 12 ft....making it one of the lowest elevation vineyards in Idaho.the steep, south -facing slopes of the river canyon coupled with the cooling effect from the river makes this a perfect site for growing grapes. in winter of 2007, we bought the deserted vineyard.surprisingly, most of the vines survived the years of neglect due to a hearty root system and sufficient annual rainfall.
